my why

to ease the stress of being chronically ill even if only for an hour

why am i doing this?

You see the smiling faces of all these kids? Their faces are pale from being anemic. Feeding tubes are placed inside their perfect noses, or through a tube in their already painful bellies. They are dancing in doctors offices after sitting in waiting rooms all day. Snuggling close to anything that gives them a sense of control and comfort. Siblings not leaving their sides because they too are scared. But, look at them pushing, through and smiling. That’s why I am doing this.

As a mother to a daughter who was diagnosed with Chron’s Disease at the tender age of 2 years old I want nothing more than to see my daughter smile. For her to have a what we call a “normal” life. I have always fought for the laughter, the ease and the magic of being a kid. IBD, irritable bowel disease, can quickly rob a child of ever knowing what it is like to just be little. But hey, here they are.

the laughter

the ease the magic

At Tap Into The Room I strive to give kids, adults and parents an hour of support from me and other families going through the motions of this horrible disease. I push to see those smiles turn into laughter and put a sparkle in those worry filled eyes. An hour of being our “normal” together. A place children and adults alike look forward to tapping into.

To ease the stress of being chronically ill even if only for an hour.
